Kathy Houghton is an experienced naturopath, fertility educator, and former midwife with over 40 years’ experience in the health field. She is a professional member of the Naturopaths and Medical Herbalists of New Zealand (NMHNZ), the organisation that sets professional and ethical standards for naturopaths in New Zealand. This ensures her practice meets established standards of care, and she maintains ongoing professional development in evidence-based and functional approaches to health.

Kathy has undertaken advanced training in herbal medicine, women’s health, fertility support, and bioresonance technology, allowing her to provide comprehensive, individualised care. Her approach focuses on identifying and addressing underlying imbalances, supporting the body’s natural capacity for healing, and optimising long-term wellbeing.

Her clinical background is both diverse and deeply rooted in women’s health. Kathy worked for 12 years as a midwife, where she integrated natural therapies and pregnancy massage into maternity care, supporting women through pregnancy, birth, and the postnatal period. This experience continues to inform her naturopathic practice today, particularly in the areas of fertility, hormones, and women’s health across all life stages.

Kathy’s passion for health began early. She was Dux of her school in the pure sciences and grew up influenced by both scientific and naturopathic perspectives, with a scientist father and naturopath mother. This unique foundation shaped her balanced approach, integrating scientific understanding with a holistic perspective. She is known for bringing clarity, practicality, and thoughtful insight to her clinical work.

Her core professional values are balance, integrity, and practicality, and she is committed to helping clients understand their health and feel supported in achieving lasting improvements in wellbeing.

Outside of clinical practice, Kathy enjoys climbing mountains, spending time in her garden, playing guitar, and exploring new places and experiences. Her personal connection to nature and wellbeing is reflected in the care she provides to her clients.
